From an architect's rendering and alot of hard work to a completed St. Damien of Molokai Catholic Chapel has become a reality. Clear Creek Construction built the chapel dedicated by Archbishop Eusebius Beltran on Friday, October 1, 2010. Fr. Remski organized parishoners to install pews, set up the altar while others planned a reception. Since then additional changes have been made, ex. modifications to the present chapel proper by subsequent chaplains.
The chapel is located on a 10-acre rural site in far northwestern Oklahoma County adjacent to St. Patrick’s Cemetery (also known as Lockridge Cemetery, one of the earliest Catholic cemeteries in Oklahoma.) It includes and 8,400 square-foot parish hall and a two-bedroom rectory. The hall and rectory is finished in a Southwestern style with a stucco and stone exterior. The parish hall serves as a chapel and parish center with kitchen, classrooms and meeting areas.
Your continued prayers and support will see the chapel complete and paid off. The building of the permanent church goes forward. St. Damien of Molokai pray for us. The completion of St. Damien's Church will become a reality with continuous financial support. Please consider making a contribution to our building fund.
